First Relief Society party–DONE.
He’s so cute on his little airplane, zipping up and down the hallway – until….wait….mom is that your camera? HERE let me help!! I can push ALL the buttons and take a picture of YOU! (you can tell I haven’t used my camera all that much lately, its still the biggest novelty for him)
Just Locke, being his usual cute self….
So as “Chairman of the Enrichment Board” or as I prefer, chief party planner, we pulled off our first party tonight!!!! it has been SO fun to get ready for, and has made bed rest bearable. Locke of course joined me with Nicole’s kids – they had a blast playing in the gym – and we got down to decorating!
oh, the dreaded half – smile.
I was sentenced to the ward wheel chair for the night – ugh. bed rest. yucky.
This was what we managed to pull off! It was kind of a pastel, vintage theme. The tie backs on the chairs were made with vintage sheets, as were the squares the centerpieces were on.
Pretty much I spent the last 2 weeks sewing napkins from old sheets ( I taped paper with the RS logo on it to keep them rolled up ), yarn wrapping bottles, hot gluing braided yarn onto the sheet squares on the table, and a hundred other things!!
I got some cupcake liners at Joann's that were the Martha Stewart collection (so pretty much that always means they’re super cute) and put them on straws,
made some origami flowers, wrapped dollar store plastic easter eggs in old sheets, painted the inside of a vase for each table, and hot glued strips of fabric to bamboo skewers for “flowers”
This the food table minus food! we had the sisters sign up to bring soup, salad, bread rolls, and cupcakes. By the way they did an AMAZING job, the dinner was SO GOOD. The garland is just more old sheets, cut into strips and tied onto string
We put a simple garland (just like the garland above but much smaller stripes) and all the extra vases and knick knacks on the stage to jazz it up a bit.
I also had each of the sisters put their thumb print on our Relief Society family tree and write their name small beside it – Its just going to be a fun thing we can display in the ward on sundays from now on. ( I just printed off a free tree template!) the jar to the left? one of my favorite pinterest finds of late – link here
Kathy Hardinger, Sherry Stone, and Donna Crapo – Best sisters! I love our little committee – they go along with all my crazy ideas, they are awesome!
And here is the party in action! it was so fun!
and our program was pretty simple, the RS presidency acted out the first RS meeting, and then our RS president Becky Rasmussen (speaking) gave a short talk. She is leaving in a month so it was nice to hear from her about how amazing she thinks Relief Society is. And there you have it! our fun little party that I was so glad a ton of people showed up and had a good time at. Our next party is in May and Donna came up with the BEST idea ever – how to be a ten cow wife!! I’m already thinking of décor and food – I can’t wait to see what we all come up with!

Oh. My. Gosh. Your centerpieces were the most amazing things I have EVER seen. Oh, besides you looking so tiny in that wheelchair. I was like, wait... did she have the baba? Hahaha you are amazing. And, send me a pic of the monsters Locke likes and I will TOTALLY make him a cake! Love you. And can't wait for the baby to get here!
