lazy eye...

How cute is he all bundled up?? i know this blog only has pictures of him...but our world seriously revolves around Locke. I can't believe how willing each of us are to sacrifice for him. Lane is so funny with him, he's the biggest softie ever. He hates to hear him cry at night, the second Locke makes the smallest wimper Lane runs in there to snatch him up. I love it, its let me see such a different side of Lane.

This picture makes it painfully clear that this boy has a lazy eye - he's looking down at my shirt. i have to take him in next week to see the eye doctor...without insurance. ouch. that bill is guna hurt. I'm curious to see what they'll do about it.

right now he thinks Vicki is the funniest person ever. Its so cute. He smiles more for her than anyone!

This is his favorite toy ever. Recognize it Skye?? My mom bought it when Skye had gracie...9 years ago. And its gone through about a dozen kids since then! including my neighbors 2 kids...

I can't wait till i get a video camera, he is absalutely freaking out on this toy!!

And this face ended our little photoshoot. He's been doing these faces for quite a while, like clockwork, every morning. I was laughing so hard, i'm glad they're not completely blurry. (its his pooping face...)

I'd better not show these to lane, i might get the same reaction as the picture where i used Locke as my model...which was questionable.

ok, so ready for the new headbands?? they are my fav so far. I'm selling them at a craft show next month for 12 bucks. i might save some for my first little girl...

Love you little guy

Locke. I want to thank you for all the smiles you give me everyday. For giggling at me while trying to workout and when i flip my hair around to blow dry it. For never really going to sleep - I love to peek in on you and have your little eyes stare back at me, pleading me to just pick you up. For your new cry, its this perfect little yelp that sounds like a little puppy. I love hearing it late at night when its quiet - it make me and your dad crack up every time. Thank you for kicking your legs and getting excited everytime we walk into grandmas house, how do you know that??!@?@?? For humming "yum" with every.single.bite. Thank you for getting so excited everytime you see me that you knaw on my chin, just to relieve your excitement. For just being you. I love you little buddy.

Sitting up!

Look who's sitting up!! Oh my gosh, Locke just amazes me at how much he grows, and how fast. I swear, last week i thought he would never get the hang of it. Now look at the little guy.

Um, and he's teething. Can you tell from him knawing on the binky? those bottom teeth will be his next little milestone.

oh, this picture. makes me wonder why we have been given a baby...k, seriously just kidding - we were driving to the farm on Sunday, when we all usually take a decent 2 hour nap. (the milkers weren't working - story of my freakin life). We knew Locke would be cranky but we just had to suck it up and go. So along the way he was yelling (NOT crying, big difference...) and honestly...we kinda ignored him. I tried to sleep and give a "SHHHH...Locke, its ok," every once and a while. Without turning around. yeah, how surprised and shocked were we when we went to get him and found him sleeping like this:

Here, see? he is ok. Lesson learned? always turn around in the car to comfort him. I'm still trying to get over my self-induced guilt trip of being a lazy mother.

Locke loves just chilling with Lane, and i love that he loves it. These two are already buds, Lane always talks about the day Locke will want to do chores with him. I just can't wait to take pictures of it. so cute.

Alright and how mean does this storm look? I was a bit scared of it - it looked a little hurricane-ish to me. Thankfully it got sucked up into the desert. This weather is so strange to me! it STILL has not snowed here yet! that is UN HEARD OF in canada. I love utah...

I've been playing around making some little boy hats lately. Locke gets the first one, of course.

Hmmm...he might hate this one later. I've made a few "cluster" flower clips in three different colors. I love how simple they are, its all about the texture with these ones.

p.s. Nicole, I have your brown flower clip done. and no way to get a hold of you....i hope you read this!

ken? where are you??

Not having the best day ever. I was going through pictures on my computer and found the newborn ones of Locke. With a touch of pms, Skye's blog music in the background, and for some reason missing Kennedy like crazy - i had a bit of a meltdown. I can't believe Locke is so big. He has so much personality, i never thought i'd consider him an acutal person at 6 months. and I can't believe Kennedy has missed all of it. I'll never forget being at the hospital and holding him for the first time, I truely think my entire life has lead up to that moment. I know I will be there for Kennedy when she experiences it. i know it will be such a sweet moment for us, because i will understand what it means to hold that little one. One of those unspoken conversations we'll have i'm sure. I can't help but get so homesick for her sometimes. Kennedy, i miss you. so much. it hurts.

Success!

This little guy...i just love him. Lately he has been doing the funnest things. Like grabbing his toes and holding on for dear life while i try desperatly to change his diaper. He thinks my efforts are halarious, and honestly, his little smile just melts my heart. So sometimes i give up mid-diaper change and let him chill out in a onesie.

He also has HORRIBLE eczema on his legs, chest, and elbows. Everytime i give him a bath it gets terribly enflamed, so lately i dunk him in the bath only once a week. I hope so bad it clears up soon, although it doesn't seem to bother him at all. The doctor gave me some steriod cream which did nothing. in fact i put the cream on one leg and not the other for a week - yes, i turned Locke into my little experiment - and the steroid leg was worse off. So i chucked that and cut back on baths. Now i give him his nightly massage using coconut oil with pure lavendar oil in it and that has helped the most. Any other ideas????

This morning we had major success when i introduced a new baby food flavor - peach rice pudding. It was good. and yes, i can say that because i tried it.

Last week we got a family picture taken to support a local fundrasier, you can see it to the right of the photo. I just stood it up until we got a frame. This morning when i plopped Locke in his bumbo for breakfast he kept staring at it!

and then he would smile SO BIG!! i swear it made me feel so important to have him recognize me and Lane. Major self esteem booster.

oh dear...its "the stare"....naptime!

The Holly Fair was also a success! it was so fun to see everyone and share my little creations. These newborn christmas hair clips were my favorites. So festive and cute! I made a toddler headband to match but forgot to take a picture of it.

so here was my display! me and Lane came up with it the night before - One lady wanted to know if she could buy some off me and when i told Lane he didn't believe me. I think he underestimates himself, because he thought they were NOTHING special. But i LOVED them, they turned out perfect.

My cute little owl!

So i scrambled last minute to get Locke a costume - literally. We were driving to our first trick or treat house and i was still finishing crocheting his hat! earlier (like an hour earlier) it was still blazing hot and my fingers were burning as i tried to assemble the dang thing. it was one of those insane last minute things I added to my crazy life, but i think this one worked out ok. Just don't look too close at the eyes on the hat - it might freak you out a little. There are strings hanging off of them that look like little worms...

Hoot hoot! I love my little owl! haha, this one makes him look like so chubby!
Aw!! he loves his mom...

He's sitting in front of the fire - and is COMPLETELY mezmerized by it. Much more entertaining then baby einstein...when i need i second i always just plop him right there. works every time.

Aaaaaand can you tell hes teething? EVERThing goes straight to the mouth. His wipes...

and socks. and feet. the funniest thing is he isn't quite flexible enough to ever get his feet into his mouth, but that hasn't stopped him from trying.

He's also not loving his bouncy seat lately. He starts to get annoyed and pushes super hard with his feet - notice how this puts all his weight at the top??

and then i turn around to this. He stops crying when he tips over. in fact last time he started laughing!! it was so cute. don't worry, he only sat there long enough for me to torture him and take this picture!

Tomarrow is my first craft fair! i'm so nervous!!!! i hope everything goes well, here are a few new items i've added. Wish me luck!
