Oh the excitement over a BOSCH mixer...so awesome!!! i'm so spoiled!!

Opening presents!! I tried to be clever and hide books in his presents so he couldn't guess what they were - because last year he figured everything out!!!

Here are a few fun ones of our second christmas....lots of sugar...

freezing cold nights resulting in cool frost on spiderwebs....
and an entire night spent finishing our christmas puzzle because of our sugar high! - and i know they're dolphins, but it was the only one i could find out here!

ITs a BOY!!

Yup, there he is the cute little thing. We could not be any more excited! The ultrasound was so much fun - they let you see the baby 10 times longer at the mall, and since i was so excited the technician printed off a TON of pictures for us. It was awesome! his memory book is already filling up! I get so anxious waiting to hold him sometimes - Lane just tells me to go get into bed and enjoy sleep while I can. Its just so cute now that i'm starting to show and he pats my tummy way gently all the time. so cute. i love it!!
I've also been opening up my photoshop a bit lately for a friend who is opening up a new shop - thankfully its been co-operating well this weekend! My photoshop loves to close down unexpectedly in the middle of a project. Anyways, her store has custom framing, home decor, and scrapbooking supplies and is a fun little shop. And i love her colour scheme! it was fun to make the buisness card.

So i decided to make some new hair things....just because. Yeah, i don't make the best model since my hair had just come out of a touque and probably had manure in it.
But I like the way it turned out, kinda whymsical and cute. I'd give a tutorial, but its really just slap some materials together and handstitch them kinda crazy till they don't fall apart....
I still think i need to tweek this one a bit. I'm thinking red rhinestones somewhere....
This is my fav ribbon. Of all time. black velvet with ruffles?? ugh.
Yeah, this close-up might not help because you can see my wild stitching....
And it was all done working around the little bump!!! and yes, i'm aware my elbow is unusually large in this picture....
This is right before we took off to go see New Moon!! soooo good. I'm a sucker for a romance flick! Lane roots for Jacob, but i'm Edward all the way. He is just so....ugh. I just luuurve him.

a little bit of lately

Well things are looking pretty good right now! Lane and I celebrated our one year anniversary October 17th - yeah! its amazing to think that we've been married a year, and how fun it was to learn to live full time with a guy...sometimes it was very interesting! We are still getting used to so much, now with my growing belly and occasional nausea he's had to learn to take care of me - which was cute. We even got to see the baby for the first time on ultrasound - and it was going crazy! like a mexican jumping bean! its was so exciting to see its little heartbeat!

And heres the proud papa-to-be. in his usual attire...
Lately i've gone from crafts to cooking, first with a few beef stews....

to this AWESOME cookbook (that i can't remember the name of right now...) where things actually turn out like the pictures! i love it when that happens! and this is the best soup....ever....

and i'm getting some crafty-things done right now, they're looking way cute. i'll post pictures of them next time.

I'm alive!

Yup its true. i'm still here. and i've got some fun news!!!
You may have already guessed it......

I'm PREGNANT!!!! ahahahahaahhhHHHHH!!!! and we are seriously SO excited!!! My little bump is already on its way, its definately changing life already! yesterday i went in for my first appointment with the OB and after two paps and a blood test in which it took 3 POKES to get the needle in, i can successfully say i survived. I even made Lane come with me on the first one...! He is so good to me! Things have been pretty good so far, the last few days i've been kinda sick and nauseated and today was HORRIBLE. Lots of nausea despite a few cat naps, gosh i hope it doesn't continue!

I went out a few weekends ago to break the news to skye and mama, where we ate at the BEST cafe ever. Its called Blue Lemon and it is wonderful! Our food looked so high-end!! I love it when we get to visit!

Then we went to our favorite spot for some eye candy. Dear Lizzie. This boutique is amazing! its georgous and fun and terribly expensive, i think this chandelier was a close to a 1000.00 dollars! but how stinkin georg!!! It pretty much sums up how pretty that place is.

I found this funny little twist on the popular saying, and it definately fits how i feel right now! sometimes the little person in me stresses me out, especially when i think of labour and delivery!!

So in times of stress, i head to sew n sews and put my machine to work:

This time i made a skirt, which is SO easy. i'm in the process of embellishing it and adding a fabric flower, and i'll take a picture when i'm done.
And of course an update from the farm has to make its way in here, last week we fed calves in the POURING rain. and after a while we gave up and headed to the barn to wait it out. Don't i seriously look like a drowned rat??
For some reason i had put my camera in my pocket....and it ended up being a good way to pass a half an hour....
Look at this poor mans coat. He won't let me patch it because even he knows its not worth it, yet he doesn't ever seem to get a new one....when we get the old coal stove working this just might go mysteriously missing...
Yuck. So much rain!

Heather Bailey!!!

Does anyone know who makes these fabrics???.........I gave it away already in the title. Its just this amazingly talented mom who decided to start making fabrics one day, and i GOT TO MEET HER!!! I was so excited!
She is the nicest person ever, i even got her to sign a peice of her fabric so that one day when i have a sewing room i can frame it for it.

She also let us see what she's making a pattern for this weekend, its a turtle pincushion!! as ken would say... lurvve it.

Oh, and her display was really fun. thought i'd share.

On a farmer's wife note, i have exactly nine misquito bites on my right arm alone right now. I'm the guy in the red shirt, and lane is the mustache=purple shirt man. I read an article about the fact that people who are stressed out more don't get bit because they secrete an enzyme that they don't like. what?!!?!?? yeah right. Lane must be SUPER stressed, because i still to this day have yet to see a bite on him. I honestly get on average 5 a night while feeding calves. and thats just average from what i've calculated this week.
Yesterday we started chopping corn! Yeah! well, not really, i can drive the smaller dumptruck for a few hours...except when the chopper breaks down and takes 3 hours to fix in the field. Good thing i had my camera. i literally filled up 2GB worth of memory taking shots like the one above. its scary what bordom does to me.
here is the proud owner of the chopper!

And the only picture i'll ever get of Nolan. Farmer to the core.
The sea of corn, there are TWO more fields like this one we have to chop. That means about a solid month of corn chopping. Love being a farmers wife....

wow its been awhile.

Yikes. this is getting a bit neglected lately. i have a million! things that have happened lately, the best of which is showcased below:

A new haircut! i got it done a way long time ago on my birthday but it has actually been that long since i've styled it enough to take a picture of me. I love it! 70's bangs are the best.

I hope everyone is enjoying back to school. Sooo glad i dont' have to. and because i don't, one day i might try my hand at some of these,
wow. i wonder what kid would ever appreciate the craftmenship behind these.
I also redecorated for fall, while keeping my entry-way quite spring-ish. I found some wooden farm eggs way to cheap the other day, and i had to use them, not to mention some georg ribbon and the cutest bar of soap with congruated cardboard around it someone gace me for a gift - thanks visiting teachers!!!

This is by the couches in the living room:
I love the poupourii - how the crap do you spell that - in the candle holders. If you can't see it because the picture is poo, there are tiny little pumpkins in it...and smells oh so yummo.

I didn't slack on the creative side making a craft either, and this one is actually quite functional. Its a leather bottle holder for my lotion (i'm a massage therapist) for work. I can wipe it off, and slip it on the belt of the day for a cute home-made functional item. i love it.
