Trying to keep this thing going….

I swear this blog started with the best of intentions. A post, maybe three a week was my goal. laughable? yes. I blame it on the fact I don’t have photoshop, so I can’t make amazing pictures, and don’t have incredible pictures to post. But really, I just need to face the facts that blogging is absalutely the last thing on my list. Which is why I get around to it twice a year….

 

k, this little boy has become halarious lately. If you tell him your going to change his diaper, brush his teeth, etc., he will drop onto the floor and start snoring obnoxiously. I still think it’s the funniest thing ever, which is why he does it 10+ times per day.

He will not sit still in church. and believe me when I say we have tried EVERYTHING. From bringing everything but the kitchen sink to nothing at all. Doesn’t work. doesn’t. work. So we usually end up wrestling/ignoring him for 45 min and then he always explodes and refuses to be corraled. Then Lane takes him out to a deserted classroom and makes him sit on a chair. And he freaks out some more. After 5 min. Locke is exhausted and ready to sit in sacrament for the last 10 min. this happens EVERY WEEK. Last week was a little different because as Lane took Locke into the bathroom to wipe his runny nose and drool (after his meltdown) Locke decided he’d had enough of lane and locked him out of the bathroom stall. The funny part was Lane said he could hardly fit under the tiny space under the door to get him out of there!! hahaha, makes me so sad I didn’t get to see it for myself.

He’s been a bit picky with dinner lately, especially if its not some type of pasta. But does this kid simply say no? no. He takes off down the hallway and throws himself on the bed and screams no into his pillow. so dramatic. I hate to think what our little girl will be like!

I’d like to think he’s a genius under all that scraggly hair and dirty fingernails, but I fear he may have inherited my intelligence genes…which is unfortunate. Last night I overheard Lane reading him a story, the dialogue went something like this:

Lane: Locke whats that?

Locke: Iiiiii Doint knoooooow.

(his I don’t knows are very drawn out and dramatic. with a high note on the end.)

Lane: It’s a cat!

Locke: OOOOh. a cat…..meow.

Lane: that’s right! so what is it?

Locke: IIiiiiii doooon’t know!

Lane: (cute little giggle)

 

Locke can count to 11. thank you Dora.

Locke hasn’t taken his glasses off for the past two weeks, straight. Which is fine, but you’d think they were uncomfortable to sleep in…

 

Now on to this little guy. A few updates on the big man:

still no teeth, but has been teething….since birth. I swear.

He is SOOO close to sitting up! yah! that means super cute pictures with Skye! and since he’s actually chubby, naked pictures are going to be killer cute.

Even though he’s been teething, this guy has the BEST disposition! So happy and content. As long as he’s being held….

Sleeping really good lately, only wakes up once or twice even though he is still only nursing. Next month I’ll start him on some foods so that should be interesting.

He is in 12 month clothes, and catching up quick to Locke who is in 2T everything. If Locke doesn’t start tanking up He’s going to start wearing Jones’s hand-me-downs.

Jones is six months old!!! what happened to my baby???

He WILL NOT take a binky, which has been good and bad. Every once and a while he’ll find his thumb which is so cute.

 

He may sleep well at night but naps are few and far between….

We take a daily walk, and Locke is going to be so sad when it gets too cold to venture out with Jones. Sometimes you just got to get out of the house! it’s a good thing for all of us!

Today we stumbled upon Lane cleaning out the bagger (he bags all his corn silage.) Turns out it broke down and Lane wasn’t in the best mood…

Hence the picture above. The only time he would look at me…He might hate me taking his picture but it’ll be crazy to look back at him trying to get that antique to work!!

He was so mad about something but I can’t even remember what it was now.

I’ve accepted that I’m not a very photogenic picture. I used to cringe when I saw my awkward smiles and weird poses. But now, I just shrug my shoulders, say "Meh.” and move on. Jones sure is stinkin cute though, as usual. Cannon used to draw these really funny pictures of birds who looked super surprised and funny – they always reminds me of Jones in pictures! he always looks so caught off guard.

Last week I Locke fell asleep like this. It was halarious because every couple of minutes his legs kept giving out and he had to re adjust. eventually I laid him on the floor so he could get a decent nap and wouldn’t wake up a raging bull!

Seriously how cute is this little guy? Oh my heck I just love his little face, he is so expressive! its so funny watching him try to figure out his hands, feet, and mouth. He has started kicking so hard! and those little arms are constantly flailing around. He’s a strong little man.

His cry is still cute, but I’m sad his newborn cry is gone. Its just one more way I have to accept that he is growing up on me…

Locke was giving Jones kisses, but so fast I missed them every time. You can see he’s going in for it with his puckered lips! Locke has been amazing with the new baby, he gets really worried every time he starts crying and offers his own binky to Jones. So cute. Lately he’s been trying to feed him food, so I’ve had to really watch him while he’s eating. There’s a cashier at our grocery store that always gives Locke a pack of rockets, and when we got home there were a few in the bottom of Jones’s carseat….hmmm….at least he doesn’t have a problem sharing.

So there’s moment when Locke is really into the baby, and then the ceiling fan suddenly becomes more interesting….

We were watching some cartoons in the afternoon and Locke and Jones fell asleep on the same pillow…it was the cutest moment of my life. and I realize this blog post has a LOT of the word cute in it, but it really explains my life lately.

Lane brought in his nasty mastitus tester from the barn this morning to try and fix it – its nasty from being covered in milk and poop from hundreds of cows and stinks BAD. So I asked him why he brought it inside, and why it was sitting on my spice cabinet, double ew, and you know what he said? Cuz britt, you’ve had mastitus twice now, its time to check your milk and find out if I’m guna put you on the cull list. Save up some money for a newer hefer. Wow. You’re so funny Lane.

I’m convinced there is nothing cuter then daddy/baby pictures. nothing. they are just so freakin precious. seriously, just look at that.

Its so fun having a new little guy around! our whole world now revolves around two boys, I can’t imagine my life without them. It makes me wonder what I used to do before them, and why the heck I didn’t try to accomplish more. oh well. live and learn. but I guess I’m accomplishing the most now by raising them right? sometimes I swear all I do is change diapers and refill Locke’s water bottle. and turn on Backyardigans. and clean the kitchen for the 34719278340th time because Locke painted yogurt all over the kitchen counter. Note to self, don’t try to paint flower pots and feed Locke at the same time…

Locke’s belated b-day party

This poor kid! he didn’t get to celebrate his birthday “officially” with a party till 3 weeks later! So I decided to go all out and Pinterest the heck out of it.

We opened some presents", his favorite being this little camper chair he LOVES and still carts around the house everywhere:

and a cute book from Aunt Nicole about being a big brother (my fav) I’m so sentimental, this book is now sitting up displayed on his dresser, it is so cute!

and the treats! we had bbq chicken sandwhiches, crock pot style, chips, and goodies. All the little jars are themed candy/veggies – liqorice = monster hair, carrots = monster bones, goldfish = fish heads. I got really creative with that last one eh….the juice pitcher on the end and all the glasses had googly eyes, and the utencils were wrapped up with a great big googly eye on them. I just threw some big pieces of paper on the wall, drew some monsters and set out some crayons – it was the biggest hit! the kids loved coloring all the crazy monsters. I also hung up a simply happy birthday banner and some tissue paper fans, nothing too special, its all hanging above the table. my camera is so close up though, I couldn’t get it in. we had the yummiest punch too. courtesy of pinterest, my bestie.

The cake, I loved how easy and fun it was. And also that we were doing a monster party and my unintended “slime cake” just happened to fit in well…hahaha, nailed it! not…..

Locke was pretty unsure about all the attention and the order to blow out the candles. He gave a half-hearted spit/blow and the cousins took over from there…(although the next day he kept bringing me a candle to light so he could blow it out for real, I guess we needed a trial run for the real cake? I’ll know now for Jones’s first big party!)

As usual looking everywhere and at everyone but me…

A fun idea stolen off pinterest again. The older kids got it, but the younger ones…well…you can tell how they felt from the look on Claire’s face!

Locke’s using his as a backscratcher, seriously could Warren care any less?? hahah oh kid’s parties. I had this perfect party in my head, and then…the real party started! after this we all ran outside even though it was pretty windy and blew bubbles.

He freaked out when his cousin Candice tried to help him…oh that kid. So much independence. What do you do. The party was a lot of fun, I think Locke woke up the next day and was disapointed when no one showed up to play. I love our little guy so much, and I’m excited for next year to have the boy’s birthdays so close together (2 days apart!!) and just have one big shin dig. Maybe then we’ll have a bbq?? hint hint Lane?…

So there are 3 baby foxes that moved in at the bottom of our lane! and they are so fun to watch – they also aren’t scared of people at all! I got so close when taking some pictures and they just sat there staring. They are so tiny too, the size of baby kittens! Locke calls them mice!
