So...Lane took the kids to Altamont which means i should be doing laundry, cleaning the tub, vaccuming the basement....etc. etc. But instead i caught up on the "voice" and "so you think you can dance" and now i'm doing a bit of blogging. I needed the down time. Lets start off the Ten on Tues (ya, i know its wed...) with something recent:
1. last night we got a giant bubble recipie off pinterest and had a ball popping huge, wobbly bubbles. Jones was so excited he screamed the whole time! i need to get some video on here of him because he makes me double over in laughter all the time! The bubbles were super fun....but now i have a gigantic sticky mess on my cement. Whaaaaaat!!??!?! turns out corn syrup and pavement dont mix. time to bust out the pressure washer.

(absalutely in bliss playing at the park)

2. Lane is in full swing ripping, packing, and planting his fields. Which means we do a lot of running around dropping off lunches and playing "lead vehicle" to humungus machinery. Locke is completely in heaven. Jones usually just falls asleep...

(she got scared at the top of the "hill" and Locke
helped her get down. adorbs.
3. Boston moved away two weeks ago. sad! Locke has asked to play with her a few times, and its been hard to explain it to him?? awww. young love. Wont be the last time he gets his little heart broke.
4. so i'm really going to miss Boston as a model for peony and plum. How georgous is her little profile, and red hair?? seriously i love it. and she loved headbands so that was perfect. Peony and Plum has been doing really well still! we are still selling out, although it seems like its taking a bit longer. time to step up our game and really get creative!

(tomato kale soup with orzo pasta....yummm...)
I love food. seriously love. This became a leek
and beef stew in the pressure cooker.

5. Went to get some fabric in town and was surprised to see the streets lined with people and United States flying everywhere! we pulled over and walked up to see if there was a parade?? turns out there was! only a minute or two later TONS of police cars, fire trucks, and motorbikes drove by, and then lots of military-dressed men in regular trucks and cars with their families. Turns out that a bunch of them were getting home from Iraq after being gone a year and roosevelt was welcoming them back. I may have cried. There was a father with kids Locke and Jones age. Can't imagine what that mom has been through for the past year!!!?!?

6. Cut three inches off Lockes hair. He looks old enough to go to kindergarden!

7. cleaned and organized the food storage/laundry room. Locke didn't find it hard to keep himself entertained....

(asked locke to go inside and get his boots on and came out with Lanes shoes on. )

(walmart fish. never. gets. old.)

 8. They had their birthdays! And it was so much fun, we had a loosly themed hot air balloon party, but really it was all about the food. poppy seed ham and swiss sandwiches? yes please. so many goodies, i may have gained ten pounds. I really didn't put a ton of effort into it?? just made a couple banners and their cakes. I didn't feel up to making a whole ton since i had been up so much with Jones at night. Why do sick kids have to be the worst sleepers??

(Jones was totally sick that day :( and didn't even touch his cake. sick babies are no fun. he just wanted to be held to whole time. sad. )

Jones SOO wasn't into the whole birthday thing, so Locke was happy to take charge ripping things left and right. As usual, Boston was right by his side.

(me and Jones checking out the latest shipment of corn seed that found a home in our garage. Will i ever be able to park my car in there??!?!)

9. First attempt at potty training was a total epic fail. After pooping on the bathroom floor and running out of bathroom cleaner we decided to call it a day. or week. or month. Its going to be a while before i get brave enough to try that again.

(first mechanic lesson.)

(Locke "helped" by shoving a couple butterknives in there. thanks buddy.)

10. I think Kennedy should plan on getting married everyday. Planning a wedding is SO FUN, especially since she has the cutest style and knows what she likes, and doesn't like. Makes the process super fun and creative. Just how I like it. wanna see a sneak peek at what we've been up to??....

I'm going to try my hardest to make it to Kennedy's wedding, I haven't seen all of you in forever! We're heading to Canada that last weekend in June though, so we'll see. Looks amazing already, I can't believe how awesome and creative you guys are! lol.

Also, your boys are darling, as usual. Potty training is the worst. I had a bad experience when I tried to get Norah trained, then just left it until she was ready on her own and basically trained herself. Right now I'm doing the same thing with Scarlett, she is ready and is just doing it! Good luck!!!
