Feeding a preemie...

Me and mom will never forget the dreaded syringe feeds we were forced to give Locke during his first week of life. Because of his jaundice and prematurity, he wasn't breastfeeding at ALL, little stink, and yet needed to be eating a LOT. so we had to resort to mom using her finger as a soother while i discretly slid the syringe in the side of Lockes mouth. It was a process that lasted at least an hour each time, and had to be repeated every two hours! ugh, so happy he finally caught on to regular feeding! otherwise it would've been the bottle for him!

Caring for a preemie is soooooo hard. But look at that beautiful boy! Sure shows that all the hard work pays off. It's good to hear that he is doing so well.
