A post all its own...

Thousands of dirty diapers.
Countless upon countless nights spent praying they will finally sleep through the night.
Every waking moment filled with worry about development, parenting, and time management.
Recent fear that with boys War of any kind could strip them from me.
Struggling to cope with the reality of what a huge responsibility raising an honest, true, chaste man requires.
So many worries.
so many fears.

Becoming a mother lately has weighed so heavily on my mind.
How do i raise my boys to be different?
To have all the qualities of a cowboy in an old western....
Rough and tough but gentle when required.
How is it done??

And then the other night this happened:

And i just decided to enjoy them. every moment. and forget the worries and the fears. and just BE a mom.

Ten on Tuesday

Who is loving the warm spring days!!! It has been amazing to let Locke burn off a few minutes of energy down at the park. We have gone just about every day, because its still chilly and he only lasts about 20 min or so. But he is AMAZINGly good for the rest of the day. i love spring!! and SO looking forward to lots of fun filled summer days!

1. Locke throws up about....60% of the time we drive through Provo Canyon. I still haven't figured out the trigger, but its a horrible, disgusting mess every time. i'm so NOT a throw up mom. I"d clean up nasty diapers every time over throw up. It is just so nasty!

( We showed up at Skyes house last week to watch Gracie's dance, but since Locke threw up we had to wash everything. So we stayed occupied with a little hair toupee we found...)

2. I love to watch Alton Brown - Good Eats. Its like a 15 year old show thats basically Bob the Science Guy as a chef. I faithfully watch every episode.

(I also love when Jones is falling asleep on me. Nothing beats a sleepy, warm, cuddly baby.
3. This week Taylor and I made a Made-to-Match Matilda Jane headband line.

4. Locke will eat anything as long as i call it chicken. (because everything tastes like chicken, right??)

5. Doctor Abrams gave us some amazing news about his eyes! Turns out if everything keeps going "as is" Locke might be completely out of glasses by the time he's ten! OH MY HECK i'm so excited for him.

6. Lane was gone two days last week to farmers auctions

we went a little crazy by ourselves...
7. JONES WALKS!!

(and here is our Mr. Uintah Basin in action...)
8. Locke sprayed our laptop with cleaner. like half a bottle. and totally ruined it. It cost a lot to fix aaaaaaaand we no longer have netflix. sorry buddy, we can't have that happen again!

(Jones trying to get in on all the fun the cousins are having!)
9. I bought sheets for the bed downstairs and actually made the bed for the first time since we've moved in. It is now "officially" the guest room. It feels special.

Aw, jones. I've never seen a messy breakfast look so dang cute.

The handicapped swing. Perfect for this little guy!
He is in HEAVEN.

( Jones SUPER impressed with our park excursions. He spent the entire time watching us play in silence. It was out of character! but i loved being able to spend some fun one-on-one time with Locke. I think he went down the slide 100x, im not even joking.

10. Lanes been talking about getting a big couch/tv downstairs, and i couldn't be more excited about this. In all reality it'll still be a while till we can all sit down as a family and watch something with without flashing colors and an actual storyline, but hey. at least we'll be together!

Ten on Tuesday

k, and this time it really will be ten. totally forgot 8 two weeks ago?? not sure how that happened. and ya, i skipped last week. we moved the computer downstairs and i didn't know how to download pictures onto my laptop. soooo....i took a week off!
Heres this weeks 10:
1. JONES GOT TEETH. It took about 3 sleepless nights, but we did it. It was a joint effort.

(how can i ever get mad at that face??!? he is dead tired, he truely just doesn't know it.)

2. I got a new Buffet for my kitchen!! so excited to get the weinery computer desk out of there! i'll post a picture of it soon!
3. In order to get the buffet, we (meaning LANE and I, amazing i know....) and the kids picked it up out in Lehi at Skye's house. We were off the farm for a total of 5 hours. It was epic. Ryan told us he was sending us a bill for the old lady smell left in his basement (the buffet was an amazing Ksl find!) I told him to keep checking the mail for the money.....hee hee...he'll be checking forever....
4. We had our Night Relief Society Meeting last week, the first one in three months! with Christmas and some other activites we didn't have one for a while, and i have to admit, it was an appreciated break. But i got right back into it! It was a super fun night, we filled out this booklet (I condensed it a bunch) and "unraveled" the year 2012 by crocheting bookmarks. We also had a quilt set up and fruit pizzas we had the sisters sign up to bring.

Our awesome sisters!
Food table!! (this is where you'll usually find me...)

I made these little valentine candies as favors for all the ladies. Straight up copied them exactly off pinterest. I honestly think i couldn't do my calling without pinterest. !!

5. I love to belt out songs in the car. Especially if its just me and the kids (i tone it down a little for Lane!) Locke thinks its really funny and LOVES when i throw in a couple dance moves. This last week he's started singing right along! He doesn't know any of the words and that makes it so much cuter! My fav song to roar outloud to is Taylor Swift "trouble". Locke knows the three words in the chorus, "trouble, trouble, trouble" It is SO FUNNY to see him mumbling through the song, but when that chorus kicks in, he screams those three words!! haha, he is so proud of himself, i love it.

6. Locke has learned how "funny" burping is lately. The old lady behind us in Stake Conference was soooo not impressed with him. Its bad because we kind of encourage him! Every time he burps he'll look around saying "was dat??!?!" really exaggerated and i can't help but giggle. Boys!!!

7. I've had two bloody noses this week right as i've woken up. So i've had the humidifier going a lot, and i finally learned how to clean off the calcium buildup on the inside (soak in vinegar...) its revolutionized the way i look at my humidifier. Because now i can clean it and not have to chip away at  it. its amazing. (the power of pinterest!)

8. I have purged my craft supplies, keeping only what i know i'll need and donating/chucking the rest. Going in there makes me smile!! and so excited to have a ton of space to create some new headbands, and a ton of other things i have on the brain. i'll post pics of the stuff i'm making, i'm really excited about all of it!!

I have a hundred of these pictures on my camera....just look at me dang it!!

9. I haven't had to unload my dishwasher utencils since we installed the "chore program" and i'm always searching for little things he can do for an extra sticker! he still loves it, and i LOVE the schedule it's given us. kind of makes me look forward to school and the schedule that will have. kind of...

10. I bought a train set (our first one!!) from a friend thinking i'd save it for their birthdays....but i caved. They were both having a hard day - cartoons and cuties oranges just werent enough. I knew these boys needed some new distraction!! who else is ready for spring!! like really!

11. I decided to do 20 things this week to make up for last week!

12. The roses Lane got me for Valentines Day - i'm a classic romantic like that, i love the red roses, they looked so pretty for almost two weeks, i just wish i could figure out how to make them last longer!

13. Lane likes me updating this little blog, he just doesn't want to actually be a part of it...

14. We put up the doors downstairs this week! yay i love to shut the doors and make it seem so clean looking down the hallway...now we just need doorknobs...i got some at lowes but Lane doesn't approve. Maybe i'll get the crystal ones after all....!!!!!!
15. CAN not tell you how much Locke loves the "fie-truck"that came with our train set. total obsession.

16. We got Jones a high chair last week, i don't really know how we've survived without one! thank you ikea, your 20 dollar high chair is the bomb.com. (no annoying fabric or weird holes for food to fall in and start stinkin up.

17. Locke watches Pocoyo all the time, and he loves the episode where they go to the beach. Whenever he watches it he likes to tell me how he "needs" the beach for the rest of the day. One day Locke, when i'm feeling brave enough to take you...

18. Our little headband buisness has really taken off! I get so nervous before each upload (will anyone like my stuff??!?) and its a hoot to see it all sell out usually in the first ten minutes!! Its really hard for me to restrain myself with it. I can see how all my photographer friends, and sister, get really busy. I love being creative and making things i think are beautiful and fun! But i'm trying my hardest to put my kids and husband first, church second, and buisness third. Its so hard! mostly because that means the buisness pays a price, and already there are a few girls mad at Taylor and I. Its tough to make them understand that we aren't willing to let this take over our lives, its a side-job, and we want it to stay that way. Its just difficult to make others understand that.

19. Lane has set aside time to killing gophers every day and that can only mean one thing - the busy farming season is super close! i'm dreading it a bit this year. Its been such a fun winter, Lane comes in for an hour or two in the afternoon and we just sit on the couch together and giggle at the funny things the kids are doing. (well i guess he doesn't "giggle", that sounds girly. chuckles??)

20. The kids and I are going to Gracie's dance competition tomorrow! should be fun! Kennedy "might" be trying on my wedding dress...just for fun....
