This picture sums up our life from the last post so well. Jones is constantly super excited and likes to "hoot" to tell us all about it, Locke is obsessed with that car, and lane is wearing a shirt that should be black. But really he shouldn't even be in the picture because he is gone all the time now!
Flowers my bestie tai picked for me at her grandmas house. They were beautiful. im tempted to rip out my front yard and plant a forest of peonies!
This kid.
And this one.
melt my heart!
So Kennedy decided to get married a month ago, which was fine. Then i went out to help with her wedding the week before to find out nothing was done. Which was not fine. No flowers, no decor, nada. We had a venue, a cake topper, and a pinterest board. And with that we went to work! Mom came down to help, Kennedy and Chris were in finals all week, and Skye and Ryan were in Chicago. So between cutting streamers, wiring mason jars, and hunting down Izzies Mom and I were watching 6 kids, and constantly trying to figure out where the heck Kennedy was!!! It was proabably the craziest week of my life but somehow it all worked out. I seriously have no idea how, sheer determination i think. and a few sleepless nights!!
Kennedy's in-laws were amazing enough to rent this place called Wadley Farms, and i highly recommend it! Its basically an orchard in the middle of Lindon where they built some amazing buildings and gardens. There was no way we would have had time to figure out decorating a huge gym, so the farm really saved us! It was basically an outdoor wedding with the food inside a little building
This was the little table we had holding the guest book and bike print.
Another art major friend from BYU drew her the bike print, seriously she has the best friends!! And the bike idea is so cute, i can't wait to see it in her apartment afterwards with all the the little fingerprint "balloons".
This guestbook took two entire nights out of our 5 nights of prep! it just took forever, especially when my little perfectionist self decided to step in. This was the first page and i love how the "moms" only signed it, it happened unintentionally, and i think its a cute little detail! not sure why mom didn't sign kents name too though...
And it was enough work i decided to add all the pages for you guys to look at! ha! (i left a bunch blank. obvi.)
We set up two long tables on each side of the cake and put most of the food on the left, and the rest on the right with the honey-jar favors.
Her cake turned out so cute! it was beautifully simple and fit our "vintage picnic" theme really well.
The food was soo good! There was mint and blondie brownies,
cinnamon sugar pita chips with a fruit salsa we slaved away on the day before!
yummy ice cream sorbets from costco,
and lemon rasberry cupcakes from a girl who won cupcake wars!! they were seriously to die for.
and oooh these honey pots. Mom and I definately had a love/hate with these things. But i'm still glad we did them. They just took an entire day out of the five days we had to execute this wedding!!
I know all my crafty friends out there will realize all the work that went into these things!!
On a table against the back wall we had drinks and candy.
Outside of the building leading to the tables outside we hung these streamers in her colors,
And these turned out to be her centerpieces for the tables. In my head i was only going to have the flowers and mercury glass, but the DAY BEFORE the wedding i put everything together and realized it looked really wimpy and dumb. So i got some help from Taylor (who was camping...of course, we had the worst luck with this wedding!) and after a few trips to the thrift stores i had enough stuff to put on that hunk of wood. phew.
I actually really liked how each one was different close up, but it all looked cohesive far away. Did I mention we got flowers on SATURDAY for this wedding on monday?? it was a nightmare i actually don't care to recount. Just thinking of the first florist makes me stress out and get a zit.
on about a third of the chairs we put these babys breath mason jars.
One of Kennedy's past roommate was an art major, and we commisioned her to re-create this fun backdrop, thanks pinterest!!!
It may have been super stressful to get together, but the end result was so perfect! it had such a nice laid-back not overdecorated feel. The place itself was so georgous we really didn't have to do hardly anything compared to most weddings.
This beautiful fountain was right in the middle of all the tables outside.
Chance and Saylor (he's single ladies....!) do i need to even mention the headband is from Peony and Plum!!?!?
Locke hugging, and Jones resisting...
My boys! Lane had definately missed these two hanging off him!
haha, i don't know how people decide to photograph families. I've decided its almost impossible to get a decent one!!
Under the streamers we finished the night before!! ha, what an insane week!
Dad looking sharp. He pulled in the day before on his Harley after sleeping in a camping chair in some random walmart. In full leather. i'm sure the employees were terrified to wake him!
And of course, the bride and groom. Kennedy was such an amazing bride for mom and I to "work" for" she kept telling us how simple she wanted everything, and how the only thing important was the temple sealing. I was glad we were able to take all the pressures of planning and executing the wedding off her so she could focus on the day, and the moments, without the stress. (did i mention she wore my dress?? it fit her perfect, and i think it was my favorite part of her wedding!!) They were both so helpful, (ha, when they could! Chris stayed up super late 2 nights before to seal all the wood for the centerpieces!!) and in the end it was all worth it to see them so happy and excited! They are such an amazing couple and one day they will have an incredible family. Best wishes twinner! we'll see you when you get back from "la la land!" (honeymoon!)
(right after the sealing)
