ken? where are you??

Not having the best day ever. I was going through pictures on my computer and found the newborn ones of Locke. With a touch of pms, Skye's blog music in the background, and for some reason missing Kennedy like crazy - i had a bit of a meltdown. I can't believe Locke is so big. He has so much personality, i never thought i'd consider him an acutal person at 6 months. and I can't believe Kennedy has missed all of it. I'll never forget being at the hospital and holding him for the first time, I truely think my entire life has lead up to that moment. I know I will be there for Kennedy when she experiences it. i know it will be such a sweet moment for us, because i will understand what it means to hold that little one. One of those unspoken conversations we'll have i'm sure. I can't help but get so homesick for her sometimes. Kennedy, i miss you. so much. it hurts.

Success!

This little guy...i just love him. Lately he has been doing the funnest things. Like grabbing his toes and holding on for dear life while i try desperatly to change his diaper. He thinks my efforts are halarious, and honestly, his little smile just melts my heart. So sometimes i give up mid-diaper change and let him chill out in a onesie.

He also has HORRIBLE eczema on his legs, chest, and elbows. Everytime i give him a bath it gets terribly enflamed, so lately i dunk him in the bath only once a week. I hope so bad it clears up soon, although it doesn't seem to bother him at all. The doctor gave me some steriod cream which did nothing. in fact i put the cream on one leg and not the other for a week - yes, i turned Locke into my little experiment - and the steroid leg was worse off. So i chucked that and cut back on baths. Now i give him his nightly massage using coconut oil with pure lavendar oil in it and that has helped the most. Any other ideas????

This morning we had major success when i introduced a new baby food flavor - peach rice pudding. It was good. and yes, i can say that because i tried it.

Last week we got a family picture taken to support a local fundrasier, you can see it to the right of the photo. I just stood it up until we got a frame. This morning when i plopped Locke in his bumbo for breakfast he kept staring at it!

and then he would smile SO BIG!! i swear it made me feel so important to have him recognize me and Lane. Major self esteem booster.

oh dear...its "the stare"....naptime!

The Holly Fair was also a success! it was so fun to see everyone and share my little creations. These newborn christmas hair clips were my favorites. So festive and cute! I made a toddler headband to match but forgot to take a picture of it.

so here was my display! me and Lane came up with it the night before - One lady wanted to know if she could buy some off me and when i told Lane he didn't believe me. I think he underestimates himself, because he thought they were NOTHING special. But i LOVED them, they turned out perfect.

My cute little owl!

So i scrambled last minute to get Locke a costume - literally. We were driving to our first trick or treat house and i was still finishing crocheting his hat! earlier (like an hour earlier) it was still blazing hot and my fingers were burning as i tried to assemble the dang thing. it was one of those insane last minute things I added to my crazy life, but i think this one worked out ok. Just don't look too close at the eyes on the hat - it might freak you out a little. There are strings hanging off of them that look like little worms...

Hoot hoot! I love my little owl! haha, this one makes him look like so chubby!
Aw!! he loves his mom...

He's sitting in front of the fire - and is COMPLETELY mezmerized by it. Much more entertaining then baby einstein...when i need i second i always just plop him right there. works every time.

Aaaaaand can you tell hes teething? EVERThing goes straight to the mouth. His wipes...

and socks. and feet. the funniest thing is he isn't quite flexible enough to ever get his feet into his mouth, but that hasn't stopped him from trying.

He's also not loving his bouncy seat lately. He starts to get annoyed and pushes super hard with his feet - notice how this puts all his weight at the top??

and then i turn around to this. He stops crying when he tips over. in fact last time he started laughing!! it was so cute. don't worry, he only sat there long enough for me to torture him and take this picture!

Tomarrow is my first craft fair! i'm so nervous!!!! i hope everything goes well, here are a few new items i've added. Wish me luck!

big heart.

Vicki very well may be the best grandma in the whole world. Her excitement and pure joy when she is with her grandkids is intoxicating! its so infectious! the kids CAN-NOT get enough of her. In fact my 8 year old neice gracie met Vicki ONCE at my wedding...two years ago. And what did she say last week when I told her to come visit? in her own words:
Yah i'll come!...will Vicki be there??
She has a way of connecting with kids in a way i have never seen before. She played piano for singing time and the elementary school about 10 years ago - and it is not uncommon for groups of teenagers to randomly hug her and tell her how much they love her when we go grocery shopping. The funniest part is pretty much every time they leave Vicki will turn to me and say "oh my gosh Britt, i have no idea who that was!!" But they all remember her from that time they spent with her. its amazing. Locke is so lucky!

With the two babies, Warren and Locke

and of course, a few more things for the Holly Fair. I tell ya, there is NO WAY i'd be able to do any of these things without Vicki's help - in two different ways - to watch Locke on occasion and to freak out/hyperventilate over anything i make. love her.

Yup, this is my fav. More versions and colors to come soon...

Holy.

k, just to start - i'm really not avoiding this blog, its just that this is quite possibly the busiest summer of my life! With moving, corn chopping, and the holly fair, oh..and a crazy 6 month old, i'm taking advantage of every second. and i secretly love it. Its fun to accomplish so much - since the beggining of summer its been amazing how many things have changed and everything me and lane have done. One of my favorites?? this little guy - check him out trying to sit up!! as if he is already 6 months! it blows my mind!

Whoops. wipeout. way to go grandma....jks. hahahahah

oh, please try to pretend you don't see the food all over his jammies. its just squash, which he obviously didn't like - hence - all over clothes...and all over mommy.
just thought i'd share the latest holly fair project! polka dot headbands! Skye took a picture so you could see them "in action"

Whew!

So things are really coming along in the house, walls are being retextured, popcorn ceilings are coming down, and paint might just go up soon! On top of that Lane is going at full speed to chop all his corn. He's even enlisted my help a few times to drive the semi beside him - yeah. its as scary as it sounds. i try, i do. But for the life of me i cannot back that thing up. Its a little intimidating, you know, when you could crash into your husband's $60,000.00 dollar corn chopper!! not a big deal...that man has too much trust in me! so i may not be the best driver ever but at least its half done. After the corn Lane said he'd help me with anything on the house - and notice i'm putting this in print so i can hold him to it later...

Here is Great Grandma and Grandpa coming to visit little Locke yesterday. I have to say these two people are the most kind, giving, and loving people ever. I would even say they pretty much hold the family together - if you remember from Locke's blessing dinner Grandma was the first and last one out of the kitchen?? amazing. I love them so much. and i love how they love their great grandkids so much!!

ahahaha locke - he stared at Grandmas glasses the entire time!

cute little profile....and notice he's in a high chair. FOR THE FIRST TIME!!

Awww! such a cutie. we had to make him smile of course!!

and again!....

because when it came to actually eating the food he was not a fan. at all. like gagging on every bit.

Aw, i just LOVE that little face!

One little thing i've been working on, these new hats to use up some of my yarn - since we'll be moving soon (fingers crossed!!!!!!) i've had to go through all my stuff. These will be up for sale at the Holly Fair at the beggining of november here in Rosy.
