Summer fuN!

Alright, so this week i went and baby sat for my sister Skye, because she took off with a few girlfriends down to vegas for the weekend. So jelous. I got home and was thinking how fun it would be to do something for me! But not vegas...i don't think Lane would ever go for that! so instead i found this sewing class online that i would normally just pass by - so i actually signed up for it! it seriously sounds like so much fun, its about 20 projects that teach you tons about sewing for 60 bucks. i'm calling it an early birthday present to myself...check it out here So fun! and even though i'm trying to remodle the farmhouse and take care of a 3month old, i figured i'd still give it a shot. I'll post pictures of everything i make! I"m seriously so excited about it!

We actually got to have lunch with Kennedy and it was SO FUN! I love that she is still as halarious as ever - the mission has not mellowed her out at ALL! She was so excited to see me and mom, and especially little Locke. We both had a mini meltdown when she saw me holding him for the first time, it was so neat for her to be able to see him at this stage. Although he spent most of the time being quite fussy...i guess he wanted her to know what being a mom was really all about!


Oh KEN!!! these pictures make me so homesick for you! i cannot wait till she gets home in 8 months, i will finally feel complete again!
And she pretty much DEMANDED me to make her some of the flower headbands she saw on my blog, except as bobby pins. I made a ton, some for her and her two companions. she's in a three-some companionship right now and they were both so nice and fun i decided to add some in for them!

I found some houndstooth felt. Me and mom were SO excited to get our hands on some - Look how cute my clips turned out mom! We were a little scared it wouldn't work out because it was pretty thick, but it sure did! and now these ones are my favorites!

By the way they are all availiable for sale at my sister Skye's photography studio. And a little boutique here in Rosy.

I love those chubby cheeks! If i knew it wouldn't wake him up i'd kiss them all the time when he's sleeping! but i'm starting to learn its not worth the risk...

seriously, when it all comes down to it, aren't we all just there for the food?? the delicious hand-made food?? yum.

I like this picture, it showed how our attention was pulled in a hundered different places at once! It was so fun to see everyone and catch up. I loved that we had the dinner at our in-law's new house! wahoo! that means we're going to start renos soon! hoot hoot! I can't wait to get into the farmhouse!


And this is the lady who pulled it all together - Lane's grandma, the woman who cannot be stopped! she is a PRO at family dinners!

yah for family! mandy...i miss you already!! We had so much fun! we have these big dreams of making everything handmade...although our latest venture into soap making didn't happen...it will though mandy! i promise!

The new faces of Locke!

Oh my goodness, i love this little guy so much! i thought he was fun before, but last week Gracie was holding him making a squeeling sound - and he did NOT approve! it was the first time he frowned and oh my heck, how does your heart not MELT over a fat lip?? he was babied big time after that, i assure you.

Yeah, they're blurry, but i think i've already learned what i did wrong. But here they are anyway, what a little cutie! so sleepy, so lovely...

some little shots of Locke one afternoon. I can't believe how mature he is getting - his ability to focus on faces still surprises me. like when i'm holding him bustling around the house and stop for a minute to answer the phone i love how his eyes always try to find my face when he hears me start talking. Babies are so smart, i love how he loves me. even more then grandma...when he's fussy for her i love how i can take him and nustle him against my chest so he can smell me and know its his mom. I just love this little guy so much! and i feel like everyday i bond more with him and when I see glimpses of Lane in him i realize that this truely is our baby! truthfully when i see pieces of me it still scares me a bit - It makes me realize what a huge decision we've made to have kids. A huge decision. but a really good one. i feel like i've never been so happy!!!

Awwww!! he's getting so big! its actually true what everyone says, babies grow so fast. he's double his birth weight now! i can't believe how much he is able to do now. Smiling is still a bit of a stuggle, but Lane loves how he is "entertained" by us. And he should be. That guys makes us work hard for the tiniest smirk! and I love his hands when he sleeps, its so funny to see them clapsed in a hundred different ways. Its wonderful now to have him sleeping better, and because of it i've been able to get a lot more done during the day. Lately our relief society has been focusing on Humantiarian work and i've been making little school bags this whole week - i'll have 30 done by tomarrow! its a wonderful way to contribute, our leaders are super motivating!! sisters in our ward have even donated material to me, so that makes it alot easier. I swear Locke's first word will have something to do with me sewing...
