Photo Book

Shutterfly photo books offer a variety of layouts and cover options to choose from.
I'm finally printing off all my pictures! i started kinda wonky, with the first
year and a half we were married, then i skipped and did last year. Now
i need to go back and do 2010 and 2011. I got them done at two different
places, Blurb and Shutterfly and i'm curious to see how they will turn
out! I love it on the screen, now i hope it will translate to the book. And
how cool that shutterfly lets you post a virtual version on the blog?? there
you go mom, enjoy!!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Summer is over. and we are going to be a sad bunch around here. The older my kids get the more my love of summer grows! and the more i dread winter. indoors. with two monkeys. yikes.

2. Jones can't seem to stay away from trouble lately. Ten minutes before church started he decided to take my mascara (secretly...) and try some on his face...and down his leg. Of course Lane was working and we ended up on the foyer couches for sacrament meeting...Jones also smells like Lane all the time - He can ALWAYS find Lanes deoderant and loves to dig/chew it into little pieces.

3. Great grandma Lorna gave us a kitten a few weeks ago and its found a cozy little home in our garage. Seriously who can tell if its a girl/boy? because i need to get it fixed if necessary. and pick a name for the poor thing.

4. My neice Candice is a puzzle wizard. We sat for almost two hours and completed this puzzle - she loved every minute! She gets up before school to work on puzzles!! Its the cutest obsession ever, and she is twice as fast as me! Its seriously amazing!

5. I let Locke pick out a costume at Costco recently, and while we were looking though them, he pointed out the fireman costume, "because i want to save people mom." say whaaaat?? I love some of the random things kids pick up on.

6. I never take pictures of myself, (i'm a typical mom i guess?? haha.) But i sent this one to Kennedy after i got brave and put on some pick lipstick because we were headed to the "city". (we went out for an eye appointment for Locke, as you can probably tell his glasses are getting a bit small...and they're less than a year old! His head grows so fast right now! and yikes they're pricey for new ones! He picked a cute bright blue, and they should be here next week!)

7. I bought this little basket for Locke last time we were at the DI and it is basically attached to his hip. He is a bit of a child hoarder, so it was convenient for him to put all his little "treasures" in one place. Because who can haul hay with dad without snacks, a sippy cup, a puzzle, and marbles??

In the pictures below was the day we picked up his beloved basket, and as you can see it was already coming in handy with his sippy cup and leap pad. The helmets stayed there, much to Lockes dismay.

"mom....dad - he comin...."

8. We bought some colored bubbles on clearance in the "city", and now i know why no one wanted them. They were super bright in the can...and on Lockes face...but in the air?? plain old clear bubbles. SOOO not worth the nasty mess. but the kids love bubbles so it was still a fun afternoon.

Showing me his muscles. In his awesome outfit he picked out himself. I've lost all control dressing him. And yes, everything is on backwards. its a new trend around here.

9. Went to Joanns and got lost in a sea of amazing plaid fabrics. I want to re-do Lockes room and make a couple throws. kennedy, you in? something like the pic below??

10. Our favorite snack is freshly popped corn, with some coconut oil and sea salt. I love that Jones is getting big enough to chew!! haha its the simple things that excite me. I can share my hard-to-eat snacks with him now.

Homemade french fries, thanks to Gweneth Paltrows recipie. And ya, i'm kinda patting myself
on the back for cutting those so evenly.

Ten on...saturday...

1. So Locke loves to pee/poop right in the middle of our sidewalk because then he gets to wash it off with the hose. It is so nasty, and i shouldve stopped it while i could, but now it is out of control!! Haha, and since he wont wear underwear period, it takes the little man about one milisecond to strip down to nothing.

2. This little stinker always smells just like Lane - his favorite thing to destroy are Lanes deodorants, and he seems to always get a hold of one?? ha, he smells good, but sometimes its a little strong! p.s. he's also a great model for Peony and Plum! I use him to check the sizing. Lane hates it! he wants "manly men" only in our house.

The "self serve" corn patch near our house. i love trusting neighbors!!

3. Nicole always has a few huge toads in her window wells! everyone was so scared of them! So i got brave and caught a couple for the kids to check out. It turned into a hilarious 1/2 hour until they jumped away. Candice is fully convinced she is getting warts on her hands, thanks to her dad (uncle Troy)

4. Lanes sister Lacy is so much fun! she is constantly mailing the kids letters and stickers. Locke feels SO important when he actually gets his own mail, it is so cute! and the stickers always end up all over his carseat. He never has any left to actually use on a letter back to her!

5. These guys have truly been best buds lately. I love when they get along! i was talking to one of my friends the other day and we said how we could have a dozen kids, if we were promised they would never fight. But seriously these boys do everything together, and i love watching their little friendship grow.

6. About 2 weeks before it started getting cold we found the perfect lake beach only 20 min from our house! Locke LOVES the beach. Haha, ever since the bubble guppies did an episode on how much they loved the beach Locke has been obsessed. We went as much as we could!

7. A couple of weeks ago Nicole and I went to Duchesne Days where they had a firetruck and mini carnival. The kids were having a hoot, and we decided to head to a ride we thought they would like, it was called "pirates cove":

This little gem was only 2 tickets, but we were running out so we decided to just let the kids (Candice, Duncan, Warren, and Locke) go inside without us. They were SO excited we were letting them go by themselves. Turns out it was a scary pirate haunted trailer! After sending them in we sat waiting, and after 2 min we heard screams from inside!! haha they had workers go in the back to find them and the kids popped out at the entrance a couple minutes later!! I have never laughed harder in my life, Candice came out first (she's 7) - telling us it wasn't scary, Duncan came next - crying (he's four), then Locke - he was proabably crying at some point, but at this point he was just kinda wimpering/ mumbling about "scary pirate", then Warren - who was still full-on freaking out screaming/yelling about how scary it was!! Haha, i wished i would've filmed it.

It took a bit of convincing but we got them to go on the mini ferris wheel to calm them down, thankfully they could see us from all angles! haha

8. Lane fixed the 20 yr old sprinkler system the other day and the kids loved "helping" him with it. They were both naked and drenched by the end.

Lane doing what he undoubtably thought would be an appropriate "man pose".

Locke, building a rock tower and holding baby Stetson.

Hey there baby blue eyes.

9. Over labour day weekend we went up to the work cabin the Nicole and Troy were at (He basically checks the dam on holidays and makes sure stupid ppl aren't doing stupid things). The kids were in heaven, ive been trying to convince Lane that buying a cabin in Heber would be the best idea ever.

It rained quite a bit so the kids had fun wrestling mostly. Jones had horrible diarrhea, so we only stayed a couple hours after we ran out of the 6 diapers I brought and soiled a blanket. (i'm pretty sure he was just teething really bad??)

The twins.

10. While hanging out at Tai's last week, Jones tripped and fell into her piano leg bench and cut his head pretty good. Good thing she is a nurse! she examined it right after and told me it was down to the bone and i should head to the hospital! yikes! thankfully it was basically right across the street!

This was my first time to the emergency room for a cut, i've only had to go once before because i thought Jones had swallowed a large plastic easter egg. (long story...)

Jones was a champ, he didn't get scared until Dane, (Tai's Husband!!!) came in to check his vitals. I told him i'd be sending him to bill...haha it was really funny that he happened to be there that night!!

Jones also wasn't impressed when i stepped away to take a few pictures. Sorry kid.

They numbed it, the simply glued the skin together. Thankfully it was deep, but not very wide so it was  a fairly easy fix.
